Again, Finn Allen got the start but could not convert the momentum into a long-standing knock. Lungi Ngidi bowled the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) opener inside the power play. A breakthrough for the Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Eden Gardens.
KKR got a strong start with the opening combination of Ajinkya Rahane and Finn Allen. The New Zealand opener was playing his natural aggressive batting. On the second ball of the fifth over of the second innings, he tried to get another big shot off the ace South African pacer.
A little bit of movement and Finn Allen departs
Lungi Ngidi, with his experience, knew where to land the ball to counter the batter. The seamer pitched the ball on the good length area, on the off as well. The ball skidded into the batter a little bit. That movement was enough to trick the batter.
Finn remained tall to heave the ball over the mid on, but made a complete mess. The ball took an inside edge and lashed on the stumps. KKR lost their first wicket of the night. Finn Allen departed for 20 runs from 13 balls. The 13-ball knock contains three 4s and one 6.
