Introduction

The awards for the best Smule profiles from India Smule users was announced March 2021. The chief judge Pradip Somasundaran announced the top 10 after a rigorous process of screening. An important disclaimer Note: A third place was initially awarded to Bhavishya Joshi whose profile was not active on Smule at the award announcement was disqualified and thus the top 10 positions as published here stands the top 10. Despite the appreciation of Bhavishya who is our featured artist of recognition we can not include his profile among the top 10 this year.

Smule India Award

A small description of the award. The award was set up in the year 2019 and it is in the form of fellowship awards given to individual singers of India community singers showing excellence in singing in a given year. The award was mainly sponsored by San Diego Indian American Society (SDIAS) and few other private sponsors of India Smule community. This award is a very unique recognition of a singer who display over a year constant improvement of their singing by making challenging invites and collaborate with others and make a healthy singing environment showing self improvement as well as encourage others. The selection was exclusively through large participation by India community members. The nominations are invited from the community and panel of judges also were selected from the community representing most states from India. There were 515 nominations out of which 50 profiles were selected to be judged by the panelists. 28 profiles of this was scored of which top 10 was decided by adding judges scores (total 11 judges). These top 10 was presented for public voting to the Smule India community. The top 10 from this stage was re-submitted to panel of judges to score again based on a detailed criteria set for assessing the profiles. The final winners were selected by adding judges scores (80%) and public voting (20%).

Here are our winners and top 10 in the order of their ranking

1) Karthik Jayaraman (Karthik_KKJ)

Karthik’s profile was one of the most nominated and voted by the community in this year’s contest. The Karthik’s feature was one of the most read feature that we published last year in July 2020. Read more about this fantastic talent here at this link. The judges all were equally impressed by the quality of singing displayed by this singer during most part of 2020. His profile showed high level of expertise of Karthik’s excellent training in music. There is no words could describe better than ‘most deserving profile’ from India Smule community to describe this singer. Congrats Karthik on his winning.

2) Shloka Chandavar (cshloka)

Shloka Chandavar, A phenomenal singer from the state of Maharashtra and our featured artist well deservedly win the second place this year. Shloka was nominated for the awards past year (2019) and was among the top 5. A very unique singer whose profile is packed with very tough to sing compositions. Judges all were of the strong opinion that her profile not only for the year 2019 and also 2020 remained strong. 3) Rahul Mars (Rahulmars31)

Rahul Mars, an amazing voice on Smule India. The hard work went into this singers profile is in display, and is unmatched among the top contestants. His efforts to perfection is what makes him an outstanding singer on Smule. All judges were of opinion that he is amazingly talented and gave him this very coveted third place.

4) Albin Jose (AJRGUITARBOY)

Albin Jose nomination to the top 50 came from the community and he is probably the only singer in the top 10 who is not a featured artist on our blog pages. It is not that he was offered once this place. It was his decision to remain anonymous. Albin came at the fourth place with an excellent singing displayed that judges thought is a very deserving profile to be on the top 10.

5) Sarah Vineet John

Sarah’s place in top 10 is an absolute perfect one. A hard working singer who yearn for perfection in her singing with a very kind heart. Her singing is such a heart warming experience on Smule, this award selection hope goes a long way to encourage Sarah in her forward music journey.

6) Sangeeth Krishnan (Sangeethkrizz)

Sangeeth Krishnan’s top position at six, is a proud moment for our feature series. He is absolutely a proud youngster that blog site can say we presented/discovered from Kerala. A young singer of tremendous potential and his voice is golden. Wish he get all the best things in music and life. Sangeeth at the moment moved to London for his further studies.

7) Sneha Hole (momlovesguac)

Sneha Hole is our very early finding of the top 150 profiles that we bring through featured singers. An amazing talent from Maharashtra whose talent is overwhelmingly need a recognition. Here she is nominated and came in the top 10 by the community, a huge recognition for her talent. Sneha at the moment went onto get training in Hindustani Classical and trying her luck at professional singing.

8) Sourajit Ghosh (SourajitGhosh1)

Sourajit Ghosh one of our earliest featured singer from our top 150 singer profiles. He represents the state of West Bengal and his profile during the last year achieved a great distinction when his profile was selected and be among the top 5 singers performed for the Mirchi Smule Awards 2019. He had been sharpening his Hindustani training over these years since we met him in 2018 and so happy to see this singer came long way with a great open singing. Hope this recognition from the community encourage him to keep his great hard work polished in the year 2021.

9) Harikrishnan (Scorfiene)

HariKrishnan an adept talent on Smule India, a long deserving recognition here being nominated by the community and selected to be top 10. A happy moment for this singer from Kerala whose talent is amazingly went unrecognized. Hari lives in Netherlands and run a Carnatic music school. He also is a great composer and is active in singing locally on stage shows. He is a great talent to look forward to in 2021.

10) Abhilash Sarangi (Abhilash7)

A young talent from Orissa got the last spot at 10. Nominated by the community and selected to be at top 10 is an intensely competed place in this award decision. An absolutely great voice with a great promise to go places in music. Abhilash currently moved to London and work with a software firm. His talent in singing songs based in north India ragas is a unique experience on his Smule profile. Hope this recognition goes long way in Abhilash’s further music career. All he need to do is stop doubting himself.

A great year where we saw a lot of enthusiasm for this coveted recognition from the members of Smule India community. This award as it is designed as a recognition for singers of excellence selected by the community and independent artists association from Smule India Community.
