Sai Sudharsan has ended his excellent innings against the Rajasthan Royals in the Second Qualifier with another bizarre dismissal, where he chopped his own stumps with the bat.

Gujarat Titans might have the horses of their fortunes running at the New PCA Stadium in New Chandigarh in the Second Qualifier, but not Sai Sudharsan. Sudharsan has been unfortunate over the past two games, as he has been dismissed hit wicket on both occasions.

Sai Sudharsan dismissed in another bizarre dismissal in Qualifier 2

Sudharsan once again started off well for the Gujarat Titans when he came in to open the innings alongside his skipper Shubman Gill. The two have now completed 800+ runs in the season as an opening pair, and their success is more than tremendous.

Sudharsan completed his 700 runs in this season as well, as he became the first batter with 700+ runs in consecutive seasons. He also reached his half-century in the match, contributing to a fabulous 167-run stand alongside the skipper.

However, he was dismissed off Brijesh Sharma’s bowling when he slammed his bat back onto the stumps, being given out hit wicket for the second time in two matches. Sudharsan played another splendid shot when he dug out a yorker, and it raced to the fence. However, the bat fell on the stumps, and Sudharsan had to depart.

“I wanted to hit the stumps directly.”: Sai Sudharsan trolls himself after consecutive hit wickets in IPL playoffs

When Sai Sudharsan was asked about his repeated dismissals off hit wickets in the IPL season, he joked and made fun of his own batting. However, this time his response looked quite relaxed despite his unfortunate dismissal.

“Seriously, the bat just bounced and hit the wicket, but this time around I wanted to hit the stumps directly,” said Sudharsan.

Even before the start of the match, when the commentators had a word with the GT opener, they poked fun at his dismissal from the previous game against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. They said, “Hope you put some glue on your gloves,” to which Sudharsan replied, “I’ve done it today.”

Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan level RCB legendary pairs IPL record

Shubman Gill, the legendary batter from India, has led the Gujarat Titans by some great example. He scored a record century in a winning cause for his team and led them to their third final in the history of the IPL.

The Gujarat Titans batters Shubman and Sai Sudharsan have now stitched together ten century partnerships in the history of the competition. This is the most by any batting pair, equaling the former record of Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers for RCB.

As openers they have broken the record formerly held by Virat and his RCB opening partner Chris Gayle.
