What Winners, Runners-up and Every Player Earn?

The Indian Premier League remains the richest T20 league in the world, and the rewards on offer this season once again turned heads. As Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Gujarat Titans (GT) prepare for the IPL 2026 Final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on May 31, the massive prize money and player earnings have become a huge talking point.

From the top teams earning crores to players receiving match fees and bonus payments, IPL 2026 promises massive financial rewards for everyone involved. The BCCI had already set the auction purse at ₹125 crore for each franchise before the season.

However, the total salary structure is much bigger, as the growth has been remarkable over the last few years. The total salary cap has now reached ₹151 crore in 2026. The biggest reward is reserved for the IPL champions. In total, the top four teams will share prize money worth ₹46.5 crore.

Top-4 Team Earnings in IPL 2026

The winner of the IPL 2026 final between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Gujarat Titans will receive a whopping ₹20 crore prize money after lifting the cup in Ahmedabad on Sunday. The runners-up will also receive a huge reward of ₹13 crore for finishing second.

Meanwhile, the Rajasthan Royals (RR) that was beaten by Gujarat Titans in the Qualifier 2 and finished third will earn ₹7 crore, while the Eliminator loser and fourth-placed team Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will take home ₹6.5 crore as the prize money.

Interestingly, franchises cannot keep all the prize money for themselves. Under IPL rules, at least 50 percent of the team’s winnings must be distributed among the players. This means players receive 50% of this prize money in addition to their regular contracts while the teams take the rest of the share.

How Much Players Would Earn?

Every player is guaranteed his full auction salary, whether he plays every game or spends the entire IPL 2026 season on the bench. As long as he remains with the squad throughout the tournament, he receives his complete contract amount from their respective teams.

Apart from their main deals with the franchises, they will also earn the match fees as well. As announced by the BCCI, every player named in the playing XI, including the Impact Player, now earns ₹7.5 lakh per match apart from his contract money.

That means if a player plays all 14 league matches, then he can earn an additional ₹1.05 crore through match fees alone. If his team reaches the final and plays 17 matches, that amount can rise to around ₹1.27 crore. As a result, even a player bought at the minimum base price of ₹30 lakh can end up earning more than ₹1.35 crore during the season.

Orange Cap (Most Runs): ₹10 Lakh

Purple Cap (Most Wickets): ₹10 Lakh

Most Valuable Player (MVP): ₹10 Lakh

Emerging Player of the Season: ₹20 Lakh
