The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) Director of Cricket Mo Bobat has been one of the smartest masterminds behind the team’s success in recent years. After RCB clinched its second IPL title in a row, Mo Bobat has ‘dropped the line of the season’ in the dressing room, which got the big approval from captain Rajat Patidar, and Virat Kohli’s reaction was just unmissable.
On Sunday (May 31), Royal Challengers Bengaluru etched their name into IPL history, as they successfully defended their title by defeating Gujarat Titans (GT) by five wickets in the IPL 2026 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
After becoming the only third team in IPL history to defend the trophy, RCB are in a state of pure euphoria after winning back-to-back IPL titles. The players are celebrating wildly in an ecstatic mood and the dressing room atmosphere was also completely jubilant.

At the end of his speech, RCB’s Director of Cricket reminded everyone that no team has ever won three IPL titles in a row and threw the challenge to skipper Rajat Patidar for the next season.
Mo Bobat said, “And look, I’ve got one last thing to say. No team’s ever won three in a row. Skipper, what do you reckon? Three in a row, next year?” This left the RCB players absolutely wild in the dressing room and Virat Kohli started dancing while clapping.
And Rajat Patidar responded with complete confidence, backing the idea of a historic three-peat. Patidar said, “Definitely,” with the rest of the players shouting and chanting out of absolute joy.
“𝘐’𝘷𝘦 𝘨𝘰𝘵 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘢𝘺… 𝘯𝘰 𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘮’𝘴 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘸𝘰𝘯 3 𝘪𝘯 𝘢 𝘳𝘰𝘸.” 🧿🤩

Mo Bobat reveals the mindset that powered RCB’s back-to-back IPL glory

Bobat was quoted as saying by PTI in Ahmedabad, “I always had it in my mind that once we won that first one (title), we needed to not settle for that, because like any sports team, you want to have almost like a bit of an infinite goal that you’re just always striving towards achieving something that constantly inspires your fans.”
He added, “From the moment we finished last season, we’ve tried to push people to be ambitious about going again. Across both seasons, I’ve probably been personally quite keen and fixed on trying to achieve top two, and if you can put yourself in a position to finish top two, everybody knows historically what that means for your chances.”
