Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has emerged as the biggest talking point from India’s latest squad announcements after earning his maiden senior national call-up and moving closer to becoming the youngest debutant in Indian men’s cricket history.The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has named the 15-year-old batting sensation in India’s squads for the upcoming T20I tours of Ireland and England, as well as the 2026 Asian Games in Japan. If he takes the field, Sooryavanshi will surpass the record held by Sachin Tendulkar and become the youngest player ever to represent India’s men’s team.The Rajasthan Royals prodigy has enjoyed a meteoric rise over the past year. After starring in India’s victorious 2026 Under-19 World Cup campaign, where he was named both Player of the Tournament and Player of the Final, Sooryavanshi carried his incredible form into IPL 2026. The left-handed batter lit up the IPL with a staggering 776 runs at a strike rate of 237.30. Currently, the list of India’s youngest men’s international cricketers is headed by Sachin Tendulkar, who debuted at 16 years and 205 days. He is followed by Piyush Chawla (17 years, 75 days), Laxman Sivaramakrishnan (17 years, 118 days), and Parthiv Patel (17 years, 152 days).
