Vaibhav Sooryavanshi received his maiden call-up on Saturday afternoon to the senior Indian national cricket team for the upcoming T20Is against Ireland and England, and for the 2026 Asian Games in Japan after producing consecutive sensational knocks in the Indian Premier League, India U-19, and in domestic cricket.

Through the video, the highly talented opener expresses that his dream is to represent his country in all three formats, including Test cricket. As of now, the southpaw is mostly recognized as a T20 batter, but the batter himself does not want to limit himself to only one format.

In a conversation with the legendary cricketer Sunil Gavaskar, Vaibhav expressed his desire to play Tests for India. He says the same in the video shared by the Rajasthan Royals.

The batter from Bihar, who accumulated 776 runs at a staggering strike rate of 237.30 during the IPL 2026 season, claims that he has been practicing with the red ball for a long time, and he believes he can play in the longest format of the game too in the future.
