Abhishek Sharma was dismissed for a duck in the first over of SRH’s innings in the most classic Shami style. The seasoned Indian pacer bowled a slower ball outside the off-stump, making it look tempting enough for Abhishek to go after it blindly, and he paid the price.
The Punjab lad threw his hands at the shot, but he mistimed it completely because there was not much pace on the ball. The ball took a thick edge and popped up towards short third, where Manimaran Siddharth was stationed, and he showed brilliant reflexes.
Without wasting a second, Siddharth dived to his right, slid across the turf, and cleanly grabbed the ball with both hands. It was a pressure catch, but he beautifully and effortlessly did the job for the LSG. With this wicket, LSG put immense pressure on SRH in the ongoing IPL 2026 clash.

Notably, Mohammed Shami became the second most dangerous powerplay bowler in the IPL since 2023 after dismissing Abhishek in Hyderabad. Shami has now claimed 25 wickets during this period and sat just behind Trent Boult, who leads the chart with 32 wickets.
Shami shares the second spot with Bhuvneshwar Kumar, while Mohammed Siraj and Deepak Chahar follow with 24 each.
