BAFTA 2026: One Battle After Another, Hamnet and Boong Win Top Honours

The 79th BAFTA Film Awards took place on February 22, 2026 at the Royal Festival Hall at London’s Southbank Centre. It was being hosted by Alan Cumming. It witnessed exceptional actors and movies being awarded in different categories. The winners include Jessie Buckley (Hamnet) as the Leading Actress and Robert Aramayo (I Swear) as the Leading Actor. Paul Thomas Anderson won the Best Director award for One Battle After Another. Sean Penn won in the Supporting Actor category for One Battle After Another, Wunmi Mosaku in the Supporting Actress category for Sinners, Boong in the Children’s & Family Film category and more.

This year, the nominations were led by One Battle After Another. It had received 14 nominations. Ryan Coogler’s Sinners received 13 nominations. Chloé Zhao’s Hamnet and Josh Safdie’s Marty Supreme had received 11 nominations each.

The event was attended by Hollywood’s favourite stars, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Timothee Chalamet, Emma Stone, Michael B Jordan and more. From Bollywood, Alia Bhatt, Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Akhtar were seen attending the prestigious gathering.
