Cricket has delivered a massive shock, as the mighty Australia are officially out of the T20 World Cup 2026. That means a World Cup without Australia is now a reality from the Super 8 stage.
Australia crashed out of the T20 World Cup 2026
The 2021 champions have crashed out in stunning fashion, and fans around the world are still trying to digest it. Australia’s campaign fell apart in Group B. Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka have made it to the next round, while the Mitchell Marsh-led team never got the momentum.
First, they suffered a shocking defeat at the hands of Zimbabwe. Then Sri Lanka crushed them. But the final blow came in dramatic style. A washed-out match between Ireland and Zimbabwe sealed Australia’s fate. With that single rain-hit game, the Aussies were officially knocked out.

Rajasthan Royals go savage, mock Australia with Pat Cummins’ own viral line
And then Rajasthan Royals decided to spice things up. The IPL franchise posted a picture of Australian captain Pat Cummins from the 2023 ODI World Cup and used his own famous line to mock the situation. The photo had Cummins’ famous line, “Yeah, it was sad to see.”
Actually, Cummins had used the same line while reacting to England’s early exit from the 2023 ODI World Cup in India. When asked if he was heartbroken to see England struggle, Cummins smiled and said, “Yeah, it was sad to see,” before laughing.

Ian Healy furious over Australia’s shock exit
Meanwhile, Australia’s early exit from the T20 World Cup 2026 has not gone down well with legendary wicketkeeper Ian Healy. The Australian great was furious with the team’s shocking campaign. Healy felt Australia believed too much in their power-packed squad without thinking about the tricky and slow conditions in Sri Lanka and India.
Healy said on SEN Cricket, “Well, let’s see if we can dissect this. The Australians bundled out in an early stage of a World Cup, which is more than likely. We were duped, just like England Cricket, you know, in the lead-up to the Ashes. There was defiance if ever criticized.
There was a denial that we could be wrong when we’ve picked a power team to play in the finicky, finesse conditions of Sri Lanka and India. And there was total confidence that we’ll be right. The selection misguidance was a year ago, where they really prioritized power over batsmanship, over confidence, over grit, and then forgot form and over what possibly could happen.”
