Dhurandhar: The Revenge – Movie Plot

Following the events of Dhurandhar, Arshad Pappu (Ashwin Dhar) takes over Lyari while Hamza Ali Mazari (Ranveer Singh), Uzair Baloch (Danish Pandor), and the rest of the family and gang members of Rehman Dakait (Akshaye Khanna) are in a state of mourning. Soon, Hamza and Uzair fight back against Arshad Pappu and his gang, successfully eliminating him. The level of brutality in Uzair’s attack for revenge is so severe that the Pakistan government is forced to arrest him.
After Uzair is arrested and imprisoned, Hamza becomes the King of Lyari to handle the responsibilities and duties of Rehman Dakait for a brief period. Soon after taking up the role of an underworld gang leader, he steps into politics and wins the next election, successfully becoming the King of Karachi. His quick rise, along with his reputation, attracts the attention of Bade Sahab. What happens next forms the rest of the film.

Worth Your Money Right From the Beginning

The first half of Dhurandhar 2 2026 is made brilliant by the emotions in it, along with the ample amount of emotions, elevation blocks given to different characters, and an interesting interval block. It also explores the much-awaited backstory of Jaskirat Singh Rangi, which hits you hard and fits in the narrative very well. Along with it, there are ample twists and turns that you could not have predicted. Such a package of elements right at the start of the film makes you get the rare feeling of Paisa Vasool.
In this first half, there are several moments where you would miss Akshaye Khanna as Rehman Dakait and his Kasainuma action scenes and cigarettes, so influential was his performance in carrying Dhurandhar Part 1. However, those memories do not stay for long as the film lets you delve further into the characters actually present in it.
Additionally, nowhere do you feel that the story of Dhurandhar 2 is continuing just for the sake of it being released, just because Aditya Dhar has shot it. That’s not the case as the story continues, completely logical and well-written. While you do feel that something does not make sense at several moments, the movie proves you wrong by justifying itself.

The Power-Packed Second Half

The second half is the clear definition of a riot, where almost every scene excites you more and more. Additionally, it also teaches Indian filmmakers not to rush things to end their film, even when it is nearing a total run time of almost 4 hours. Throughout this runtime, you do not feel like shifting your gaze from the screen for even a second because so much is happening, and the film has managed to engage you enough to watch every chapter thoroughly.
The necessary twists and turns of the film, along with the many action pieces that continue in the second half, make Dhurandhar: The Revenge a true mass entertainer, shifting from the slow, classy feel of Dhurandhar Part 1 without disconnecting them.

Rich in Emotions

Unlike what you would normally expect from Dhurandhar 2, after the action-packed Dhurandhar 2 official trailer and teaser, the film is rich in emotion, balanced with action, evident right from the beginning of the movie. This is a great quality of the film, as the action and violence would have been very boring without proper drama to support them.
The balance between action and drama feels good because Part 1 spent a lot of time establishing all the characters, their personas, their relations with one another, their cunning, and the lengths they would go to fulfil their wants, specifically their revenge.

All Boxes Checked

Dhurandhar: The Revenge is a movie that barely misses in any department, as the efforts and detailing put into making it are clearly visible in your theatrical experience. Whether it be the performances, direction, story, music, action, cinematography, or anything else that was needed to justify the hype of the film, this Aditya Dhar directorial has done so successfully.

The Greatness of Shashwat Sachdev

Dhurandhar 2 music composer Shashwat Sachdev does what he is great at and what he made Dhurandhar Part 1 known for: the rap-filled remixes to vintage songs. Among the remixes, the Dhurandhar 2 music album features Aari Aari and Jaan Se Guzarate Hain, both of which are among the greatest songs on the album. At the same time, there are some songs that are not very popular right now but could become popular later, just as Ramba Ho, Lutt Le Gaya, Move – Yeh Ishq Ishq, Ez – Ez, etc. did after the release of Dhurandhar Part 1.
However, in the film, the team could have used some chartbusters from Part 1 to make this sequel more wholesome. While they could have actually done so, the musical rights of both films are held by different labels, so that’s a valid reason. Instead, they should have made more new songs like Part 1.
Besides the songs, his BGM is the perfect element that doesn’t rip your eardrums out yet elevates the scene.

The Brilliance in Writing

The story by Aditya Dhar and the screenplay by him alongside Ojas Gautam and Shivkumar V. Panicker successfully hold your interest throughout the 3 hours and 49 minutes of the Dhurandhar: The Revenge showtimes. Even as a director, Aditya Dhar’s conviction in the film is evident, as he has not diluted its impact by staying true to his ideology, yet not letting it overshadow his creativity.
The dialogues they have written do a really great job of filling the theater with claps, whistles, and hooting every now and then. Hence, these powerful dialogues become another point of attraction as they also play a major role in making the film a true mass entertainer, as declared in the Dhurandhar: The Revenge reviews. Moments where those dialogues hit make you feel grateful that you booked tickets a few days before during the Dhurandhar 2 advance booking.
While it is defined as a fictional character in the film, the writing team has established a strong connection between the events, which are their own fragments of imagination, and the real past affairs of the two countries.

Dhurandhar: The Revenge Cast Performances

The complete Dhurandhar: The Revenge cast has shown fantastic performances right from the leads to the supporting actors.
Ranveer Singh is terrific in his role as Jaskirat Singh Rangi/Hamza Ali Mazari. Right in the first 15 to 20 minutes of the movie, he shows a range of acting that few from his generation can match.
Arjun Rampal is good as the leading antagonist of the movie, Major Iqbal, and elevates the film successfully with his dialogue delivery.
As for Sanjay Dutt, he is tailor-made for the role of SP Chaudhary Aslam. As already seen in Part 1 and now again in Part 2, his dialogue delivery, action scenes, personality, body language, elevation scenes, and look, everything else speaks of mass treatment done right. However, the sudden removal of his character from the film’s storyline is hard to accept, but is compensated for as the film moves on.
R. Madhavan as Ajay Sanyal, along with his team at IB, drives the story well enough towards the thrills. While his overall performance is great, the “Honsla, Eendhan, Badla” moment drives the audience crazy. His smashing entry during interesting or tense scenes as Ajay Sanyal packs a punch, even though his role is to order and not jump into the battlefield himself.
Sara Arjun, as the female lead of Dhurandhar Part 2, gets some portions to keep the drama in the film alive, which she does very well.
Danish Pandor, as Uzair Baloch, shows a great brother-like bond with Ranveer Singh while also excelling in violent action scenes.
Rakesh Bedi, as Jameel Jamali, is another highlight of the Dhurandhar 2 cast, as he stays in his forte of deriving several laughs from the audience throughout the run time, as well as driving several thrilling moments of the film.

The Technical Aspects

Visually, the cinematography and production design are strong throughout the film and clearly show that the team has worked hard to hone every aspect. Additionally, we have seen several action movies get ruined because of poor VFX, which the team of Dhurandhar 2 has taken care of. However, this is the same aspect where the film disappoints a bit, particularly in the pre-climax and the climax sequence. They have some moments where the quality of visual effects seen in bomb blasts and similar scenes declines sharply and feels like the work of an amateur.
Additionally, the film’s sound design is a major problem. In many places, audio is out of sync with the video, which is very noticeable and feels intrusive. Additionally, the censorship has harmed the film as several dialogues have been muted or beeped, which ruins the overall entertainment quotient of the movie.
However, these faults in the making highlighted in the Dhurandhar the revenge reviews can be easily overlooked for a film like Dhurandhar 2, which defines greatness for most of its run time.

Dhurandhar Part 1 or Part 2 – Which is Better?

A shift in dynamics is clearly visible between the two movies as the first was class-appealing, the second was designed to be memorable for a long time, and there’s a blend of class, too.
Judging by the performances, story, screenplay, dialogues, music, and nearly all other departments, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is a better film than Dhurandhar. However, when you consider the technical aspects, such as the sound design and the VFX, that’s something where Dhurandhar: The Revenge lags behind, and Part 1 exceeds it.
Overall, according to Inside Box Office, Dhurandhar Part 2 is a better film than Dhurandhar Part 1.

Final Thoughts

As for our overall Dhurandhar 2 Revenge review, all that the film needed was better attention towards the technical aspects like visual effects and sound design, particularly in the climax and pre-climax, which could have made the film a much better experience. However, what the film has turned out to be now will make it a big blockbuster, as indicated by the Dhurandhar 2 pre sale booking, and a benchmark for spy movies instead of the childish storytelling standards set by YRF Spy Universe movies. While only the first quarter of the year has passed, we at Inside Box Office can safely declare that Dhurandhar 2 is one of the best films of 2026.
