Shares of GPT Infraprojects Ltd fell 4.5% on 18th February after touching the day’s high of Rs 126.40. Even so, the company announced on 17th February that it had secured a Rs 1,201.36 crore contract from Northern Railway.
The contract involves the construction of a rail-cum-road bridge over the River Ganga in Varanasi.
The company said the contract was awarded by CAO CON, Northern Railway. It will be executed in a joint venture with Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL). Consequently, GPT Infraprojects holds a 40% stake in the project, valued at around Rs 480.54 crore.
The project involves the design and construction of a new Rail-cum-Road Bridge No. 11 over the River Ganga. It will be about 50 metres downstream of the existing Malviya Bridge near Kashi Railway Station in Uttar Pradesh.
The bridge will have 8 spans of 108.5 metres and 2 spans of 103.3 metres, using open-web steel girders. The lower deck will carry four railway lines, while the upper deck will support a six-lane road. In addition, the scope also includes railway and road approach works, along with overhead equipment (OHE) and general electrical works in the Lucknow Division of Northern Railway.
The project is scheduled to be completed within 1,461 days from the appointed date.
GPT Infraprojects Q3 Results
For the third quarter, the company reported a 6% year-over-year fall in consolidated net profit to Rs 20.1 crore. This compares to Rs 21.4 crore a year ago.
Revenue rose 2.1% to Rs 283.9 crore, while EBITDA increased 11.7% to Rs 38.2 crore. Operating margin improved to 13.4% from 12.3% in the same quarter last year.
The board also declared a second interim dividend of 7.5%, or Rs 0.75 per equity share of face value Rs 10, for FY26.
At 11:30 AM, shares of GPT Infra were trading 4.34% lower at Rs 121.69 on the NSE.
