Kuxiu X55 Turbo offers 25W wireless charging at a lower price – 9to5Mac

Date:

A few months ago, I reviewed Kuxiu’s X40 Turbo. It was one of the first chargers to bring us the new Qi2.2 25W charging speed. It came in a gorgeous space orange color to match the new iPhone 17 Pro, was super compact and also charged the Apple Watch and AirPods. That charger became a mainstay in my travel pack. But now Kuxiu has presented her new one X55 Turbo Chargera more budget-focused option that offers much the same core experience at a more competitive price point. The biggest change comes down to the design and materials, but the performance remains the same, which is the most important aspect. Here’s what you need to know.

The biggest thing to note here is that this charger focuses on bringing the fastest Qi2.2 charging speeds without breaking the bank. It still follows the same 3-in-1 folding design language that X40 Turbo has, but with even more functionality and use case scenarios. The biggest cost difference you’ll see between the X40 Turbo and the X55 Turbo is that the X55 is made of plastic, while the X40 is made of aluminum. Here are the key specs:

  • Supports Qi2.2 25W fast charging
    • Supported by iPhone 16 and newer with iOS 26
    • Older iPhones will charge at 15W
  • 3-in-1 charger that charges iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods
  • Maximum power of 35W – 25W for the phone, 5W for Airpods5W for Apple Watch
  • Included in the package:
    • X55 Turbo
    • Hard shell storage bag
    • 45 W charging brick
    • USB-C cable

A few things really stand out here. The first is the fact that this still includes the charging brick needed to get maximum charging power. This is increasingly rare these days. The second highlight is that even though this is a budget product, you still get the maximum charging speed of 25W. There is also a charging mode that X55 Turbo there is one that even the X40 does not have. Let me explain.

My experience

If you used the old X55 charger or even X40 Turbothen this will feel very familiar. The first aspect I like to talk about Kuxiu products is that you get everything you need to use them. There are chargers that are 3x the price and don’t even include the charging brick in the box, so the fact that this one comes with a 45W GaN charger is amazing. The biggest physical difference is in the construction materials. The X55 Turbo is made of this soft-touch, almost rubbery-feeling plastic. What’s nice is that it still feels premium. It feels like the bottom of the iPad Pro’s Magic Keyboard, which makes it feel like a more expensive product. It also has a good weight to it which helps when using this charger in stand mode.

I’ve been using this charger as my main bedside charger for about two weeks now and it checks every single box. A few things really stood out to me. The first is versatility. You can use this charger in many ways and environments. For example, you can fold it completely and use it as a single Magsafe charger to charge your iPhone. You can also unfold it to use as a stand, and you can charge all three devices when your iPhone is in standby mode. Finally, unlike X40 Turbothis can be fully extended. Even if your phone doesn’t support MagSafe, you can still use it with this charger. One last quality of life feature I noticed is that AirPods the charger has magnets to help align when you put it down. If you have a pair of modern AirPods, they have MagSafe magnets. So combine that with the magnets on the charger and you’ll never have an alignment problem when you put it down.

Price and availability

of Kuxiu X55 Turbo comes in just one color, as shown above. You can get it at Kuxiu’s shop for only 59 dollarscompared to X40 Turbowhich is listed at $80. As I said, X55 Turbo it comes with the charger, a 45W charging brick, cable, and even a carrying case.

Final thoughts

We live in a world with thousands of charging options. So it’s great to see a charger that checks every box, delivers everything you need, and comes at a great price. While there is still a market for a charger with nicer finishes and materials, most people just want something that works, works great, and lasts for years. Kuxiu has assured that with X55 Turbo. You get a charger that fits every situation. You can use it as a main desktop charger and also fold it up to take it with you on the go. You get the fastest wireless charging speeds iPhones support, and it’s purpose-built for your Apple ecosystem. Overall, this is a great product that gets my recommendation.

What do you think? Is this something you would use? Do you have a Qi2.2 wireless charger? Does your iPhone support this? Let’s discuss below.
