Ravindra Jadeja breaks silence on fiery send-off to Shivam Dube in RR vs CSK IPL 2026 clash

Ravindra Jadeja opened up about his celebration after dismissing Shivam Dube during the IPL 2026 match between the Rajasthan Royals (RR) and the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Jadeja gave Dube an aggressive send-off after securing the wicket at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Monday, March 31.

During the eighth over of the CSK innings, Dube attempted to clear the straight boundary against Jadeja. However, the left-handed batter gave a simple catch to Ravi Bishnoi at long-off. Following the dismissal, Jadeja raised his left hand, mimicked a gun, and completed it with a “boom” gesture from his mouth.

“I used to do this celebration when I played for CSK, so I thought, why not continue with it here as well,” Jadeja told JioHotstar.

“I have known him for a long time. I was bowling to him in the nets. I know how he thinks and what he looks to do. I was prepared for that and tried to bowl outside off, because I knew he would look to play big shots against me.”

Dube had smashed a massive six just two deliveries earlier. However, Jadeja had the last laugh, dismissing Dube for just six runs and helping the Rajasthan Royals dismantle the Chennai Super Kings.

I Think Pink Looks Good On Me – Ravindra Jadeja

Before IPL 2026, the Chennai Super Kings traded Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran to the Rajasthan Royals in exchange for Sanju Samson. Ravindra Jadeja expressed satisfaction at wearing the pink jersey again and returning to the Rajasthan Royals after 17 years.

“I think pink looks good on me. I felt the wicket was a bit sticky, and the ball was turning, so I really enjoyed bowling. My job was just to hit the right areas and let the pitch do the rest.”

“You can’t take anything for granted in cricket; no matter the target, you have to work hard, play your shots, and give your 100 per cent.”

Jadeja began his IPL career with the Rajasthan Royals in 2008 under Shane Warne. The left-arm spinner won three IPL titles with the Chennai Super Kings under MS Dhoni.

Ravindra Jadeja finished with bowling figures of two wickets for 18 runs in three overs. His crucial dismissals of Sarfaraz Khan and Shivam Dube dented the CSK middle order. Jofra Archer and Nandre Burger also bowled brilliantly with the new ball.

The Chennai Super Kings slumped to 94 for 9 before Jamie Overton played a decent knock of 43 runs off 36 balls. Overton pushed the Chennai Super Kings to 127 all out.

Chasing the target, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi played a blistering knock of 52 runs off just 17 deliveries to put RR in control. After his dismissal, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag guided the team to victory in just 12.1 overs with eight wickets in hand. Burger bagged the Player of the Match award.
