In the previous IPL season, the Mumbai Indians managed to qualify for the play-offs despite an underwhelming beginning. In the initial stage of the 2025 campaign, the former champions dropped multiple points, which made their road to the playoffs tougher.
The franchise now makes too many changes in the team, keeping the core intact. Like multiple previous occasions, during the IPL 2026 season too, Sharma, Pandya, Varma, Yadav, and Jasprit Bumrah will take major roles to gift the team another glorious moment.

Hardik Pandya will have to prove himself as the captain of the team
MI concluded their previous season as the fourth team on the points table. In 14 matches, they claimed a total of 16 points, winning only 9. This year, they will start a fresh campaign on March 29, at their home ground, Wankhede Stadium. The opening of the Mumbai-based team will be very challenging, as they will be up against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
Hardik Pandya will have to prove himself as the captain, as the franchise bought him and assigned him as the leader of the team, with a lot of trust. To prove his capability as a captain, the best way is to win the sixth IPL title. According to the stats, out of 29 matches, Pandya guided the team to victory in only 13, which gives a winning ratio of 44.82.
