Introduction

What is Autism? A developmental condition where the ability to interact and have interpersonal communication is affected. It is a chronic condition that may last life long. Affected individuals struggle to recognize emotions and may come across as lacking empathy, angry, lacking behavior control with repetitive behaviors, hyperactive, aloof.
Some of the autistic individuals are brilliant minds such as Mozart, Albert Einstein, Bill Gates to name a few. One in sixty people are autistic and there is no cure yet. Every year month of April is dedicated for Autism Awareness and smule singers have sung several songs to raise awareness. Rajesh Ramani Smule id @Raaj_Ekalavyaa was moved through the experiences and interactions with autistic children, penned a beautiful composition ‘Manidha Pookal‘ and composed it to raise awareness for autism.
Smuleindia community in partnership with Mr. Ramani took it to the next level and together the brilliant idea #sing4Autism by hosting a contest was born. Format for the competition was a group collaboration of 6-10 people. The Smule community provided excellent support for the cause and joined hands singing many group collaborations. To the utter delight of the organizers, response from the Smule community was overwhelming with more than thirty teams participated in this competition. Each entry was unique with novel ideas and all teams gave their beautiful interpretations of this gem of a composition to support the cause.
Sadly, not everyone can be a winner and the best team announced as winners were Symphony Squad who won yearly VIP subscription To Smule and the runners up were Shades team whose members got 500 Smule coins. Honorable mentions were given for three other teams. Results were announced on Mother’s Day.
