Sunrisers Hyderabad fell to Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the tournament opener, while Kolkata Knight Riders were handed a six-wicket defeat by Mumbai Indians in Match No. 2. The Eden Gardens pitch is typically sporting, though KKR frequently said last season that it does not play to the strengths of their twin spinners, Sunil Narine and Varun Chakaravarthy. That debate is likely to continue, but KKR are expected to stick with the experienced duo to bolster an otherwise inexperienced seam bowling attack.
