As enterprises look to scale AI across their technology stacks, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has partnered with GitLab Inc. to bring AI-driven automation to enterprise software development.
The collaboration combines TCS’s AI-led transformation capabilities with GitLab’s DevSecOps platform. As a result, it helps organisations deploy agentic AI across the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC). This is achieved while maintaining security, governance, and compliance standards.
At the centre of the partnership is the GitLab Duo Agent Platform, which enables enterprises to use pre-built and custom AI agents, along with chat-based assistance. Furthermore, it integrates with external AI tools, such as Claude Code from Anthropic and Codex CLI from OpenAI. It also supports built-in security controls.
TCS will develop industry-specific AI workflow templates and pre-built agents to accelerate implementation. The alliance will also focus on modernising legacy systems. In addition, it will consolidate fragmented toolchains into a unified platform to improve efficiency and oversight.
The joint offering targets sectors including telecom, financial services, retail, manufacturing, healthcare, and the public sector. Use cases range from 5G roll-outs to core system modernisation.
