In the same over, Vaibhav Arora and the Kolkata Knight Riders clinched another big wicket, this time it is Mitchell Marsh. Arora took two wickets in one over, and the match instantly turned more competitive.

In the first innings of the match, when the wicket was more alive, the batters of the home team, KKR, showed enough patience before taking the aerial route. Finn Allen, who loves to go big from the starting point of the contest, was dismissed cheaply.

The night before the game, Kolkata witnessed heavy rain. In the morning of the match day too, the weather was wet and heavy. The match started as per the schedule, on a breezy evening.

Traditionally, at Eden Gardens, pacers got some bounce on the surface. The heavy weather might have made the conditions more favorable for the bowlers, especially for the pacers, both suitable to trouble the batters.

Ajinkya Rahane, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Cameron Green, and Rovman Powell proved that the batters could score runs on the pitch, but needed to play with a cool, well-composed head.

In 4 overs, the Lucknow Super Giants got an electrifying start through their opening pair of Marsh and Markram. In overs, with a run rate of over 10.00, they edged past the 40-run mark. When the batters were starting to tighthen their grip more strongly, they made mistake, and lose their scalps.
