Vignan University in Vadlamudi village of Chebrolu mandal in Guntur district received approval from the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) to introduce the Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) from 2026-27 academic year, in-charge Vice-Chancellor K.V. Krishna Kishore announced on Monday.
Vignan Educational Institutions Chairman Lavu Rathaiah said the programme aims to nurture “nation builders” by combining subject knowledge with modern pedagogy and technology-enabled learning. He noted that special laboratories, resource centres and experiential training facilities have been established to provide practical exposure for future teachers.
Admissions will be conducted through the National Common Entrance Test (NCET) organised by the National Testing Agency, with the curriculum aligned to the National Curriculum Framework for Teacher Education, focusing on pedagogy, community engagement, research orientation and student-centred teaching practices across schools and classrooms.
