Sai Sudharsan century puts India A in command on opening day

India A 333 for 4 (Sudharsan 132, Jurel 68*, Rasheed 53*, Sudeera 2-98) vs Sri Lanka A

Having opted to bat, India A made a steady start despite losing Aayush Pandey for 25 after an 82-run opening partnership. Pandey fell to left-arm spinner Dilum Sudeera in the 23rd over.

India A slipped from 82 for 0 to 181 for 3 when Devdutt Padikkal departed for a seven-ball 12 and Ruturaj Gaikwad was trapped lbw for 22. However, Sai Sudharsan steadily rebuilt, bringing up a century with 19 fours. His 132 came off 175 deliveries and formed the foundation of India’s innings.

For Sri Lanka A, Sudeera was the most successful among the bowlers, claiming two wickets, while fast bowler Ravindu Fernando and offspinner Chamika Gunasekara picked up one apiece. The hosts also conceded 21 extras, including 13 no balls.

Sai Sudharsan’s dismissal at 217 for 4 offered Sri Lanka A an opening, but India A’s middle order shut the door firmly. Captain Jurel and Rasheed stitched an unbeaten 116-run partnership for the fifth wicket to ensure there were no further setbacks.

Jurel ended the day on 68 not out from 138 deliveries, while Rasheed scored an unbeaten 53 off 92 balls. Their partnership guided India A safely through the final session and left the visitors firmly in control at stumps.
