WTC 2025-27 Points Table [UPDATED]: Pakistan climb after series-levelling win over West Indies in 2nd Test

Pakistan bounced back in impressive fashion to level the two-match Test series against the West Indies with an eight-wicket victory in the second Test at Queen’s Park Oval, Trinidad. The win not only helped the visitors draw the series 1-1 but also lifted them one place in the updated ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 standings.

Having suffered a disappointing defeat in the series opener, Pakistan responded strongly with a disciplined all-round performance. Their spinners dominated throughout the contest before the batters comfortably chased down a modest target of 77 on Day 4. The victory also ended Pakistan’s eight-match away losing streak in Test cricket, providing a timely boost to their campaign in the ongoing WTC cycle.

Pakistan bounce back to level the series

Pakistan entered the second Test under pressure after losing the opener by 90 runs but produced a much-improved performance to restore parity in the series. The visitors’ spin attack, led by Sajid Khan and Ali Usman, exploited the conditions brilliantly to restrict the West Indies across both innings.

Chasing just 77 for victory, Pakistan reached the target shortly after lunch on the fourth day despite losing two early wickets. Abdullah Shafique, who had earlier scored a century in the first innings, remained unbeaten on 24 alongside captain Babar Azam, who also finished unbeaten on 24. Babar sealed the victory in style by smashing consecutive sixes off left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican.

The result ensured Pakistan remained unbeaten in a Test series against the West Indies since 2000 while also ending a lengthy away losing streak that had stretched to eight consecutive matches.

Pakistan move above West Indies in updated WTC standings

The victory has significantly improved Pakistan’s position in the World Test Championship table. After dropping to the bottom following the opening Test defeat, Pakistan have now climbed to eighth place with two wins from six matches and a points percentage (PCT) of 22.22. The West Indies slipped to ninth after the defeat despite having more overall points, with their PCT dropping to 20.83 after 12 matches.

Australia continue to dominate the standings with seven wins from eight Tests and a PCT of 87.50, while South Africa remain second with 75.00. New Zealand occupy third place ahead of Bangladesh, who have enjoyed an encouraging start to the cycle. India are currently fifth with a PCT of 48.15, followed by Sri Lanka in sixth and England in seventh.
