At the end of the second round of choice-filling for the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) 2026 on Thursday (August 6, 2026), the authorities have issued tentative allotments for 79,403 candidates on Friday (August 7).
Students who have received their tentative allotments should confirm their seats using proper confirmation option by 5 p.m. of Saturday (August 8). Confirmation was mandatory and failure to do so would lead to cancellation of the allotment, a press release issued by the TNEA stated.
In the second round, as many as 93,117 candidates were eligible for allotment in the general academic category out of which, 68,388 candidates were given tentative allotments. Similarly, in the horizontal reservation category (7.5% reservation for students who studied in government schools from Class VI to Class XII), a total of 11,015 allotments were issued out of a pool of 15,466 eligible candidates, the release added.
As per records, the total number of tentative allotments issued after second round last year was 80,650, with as many as 70,116 general academic category candidates receiving tentative allotments.
