NEW DELHI: Authorities have removed unauthorised structures and queue-management barriers erected outside the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi on Thursday, according to news agency PTI.The structures, including queue liners installed near the visa section of the Pakistani mission, were located on a lane outside the compound’s approved boundary.Indian authorities also removed traffic bollards and barricades that had previously been placed around the diplomatic compound.Visuals showed a trail of rubble outside the mission following the demolition, with broken metal railings and gates, twisted metal frames, roofing sheets, bricks, and chunks of concrete and plaster scattered across the paved area.The visuals also showed sections of the outer structures completely demolished, including corrugated roofing and white metal fencing.The visa section remained visible amid the debris, with service windows marked “Window 1”, “Pakistani Passport Only” and “Window-5 / Collection of Visa Applications”.The area around the service windows appeared damaged, with portions of plaster and masonry broken away.Broken fencing and construction material were also seen lying around the counters.The development comes days after Pakistan removed security barricades and parking poles placed outside the Indian High Commission in Islamabad.(With agency inputs)
