Ajit Agarkar, who took over the reins of the national men’s selection committee in mid-2023, is set to walk away after what is widely expected to be his final selection meeting for the upcoming West Indies series.
For months, the expectation was that Agarkar would be handed a seamless run through to the 2027 ODI World Cup. However, the dynamics within the Board of Control for Cricket in India shifted drastically following an ill-advised standoff involving Indian captain Rohit Sharma.
