Nepal will host Bangladesh for a three-match T20I series in March 2027, marking the first bilateral series between the two men’s teams. The matches will be played at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Stadium in Kirtipur on March 26, 28 and 30.
The series will be a landmark occasion for Nepal as it will be the first time a Test-playing nation visits the country for a bilateral series. It will also be the biggest bilateral series hosted by Nepal to date, with the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) and Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) joining hands for the historic tour.
Nepal and Bangladesh set for first bilateral series
The two teams have previously met twice in men’s T20I cricket, with both encounters coming at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. They first met in the 2014 edition before facing each other again at the 2024 tournament. The upcoming series will now see the teams meet in a bilateral contest for the first time.
Bangladesh have already qualified for the 2028 Men’s T20 World Cup, while Nepal will be looking to secure their place through the Global Qualifier. All three matches will take place at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Stadium, giving Nepal the opportunity to host a Test-playing nation across a full bilateral series on home soil.
Series to be dedicated to victims of Nepal floods
The three T20Is will also carry a message of solidarity, with the series being dedicated to the people who lost their lives in the recent floods in Nepal. CAN and BCB said the matches will pay tribute to those who died while expressing support for their families and communities affected by the disaster.
The two boards also highlighted cricket’s ability to bring people together during challenging periods. The series is therefore set to go beyond the action on the field, with both countries using the occasion to convey a message of friendship, empathy and cooperation.

BCB to support women’s and age-group cricket in Nepal
The partnership between the two boards will extend beyond the three-match T20I series. The Bangladesh Cricket Board has committed to supporting Nepal’s women’s cricket, age-group cricket and capacity-building programmes. CAN and BCB will also encourage future tours involving the Nepal A team and bilateral A-team series.
The wider cooperation is aimed at creating more opportunities for Nepali players and supporting the continued development of cricket in the country. With Bangladesh’s senior men’s side now set to visit Nepal for the first bilateral series between the teams, the tour will represent an important step in strengthening cricketing ties between the two nations.
