We first heard of the Galaxy Able buds back when the Galaxy Watch9 and Watch Ultra2 leaks were happening. The watches became official, the buds still are not. Since then we’ve learned that these will become Samsung’s first clip-on style buds and will actually be called the Samsung Galaxy Buds On. Here are a few more details, plus a couple of images.
Clip-on buds don’t go into your ear canal like regular buds. Instead, they rely on their clip design to stay on your ears – this can be much more comfortable for long periods.
The Galaxy Buds On will reportedly use open-ear air conduction. This means that they will direct sound towards your eardrum via the edges of your ear canal – we’re still not entirely clear on how that will work.

Rumors indicate that the On will have nod gestures similar to the Galaxy Buds4 – nod your head for a positive action (accept a call) or shake your head for a negative (reject a call).
As usual, the buds will support AI assistants like Bixby and Gemini. They will also have a feature that automatically boosts the volume in noisy environments – with such an open design, Active Noise Cancellation isn’t in the cards for these buds (certainly not good ANC).
We still don’t know when Samsung plans to introduce the Galaxy Buds On. It didn’t do it with the new Galaxy Watches, not with the Galaxy S26 FE either (as one rumor speculated) and not with the Galaxy Tab S12 series launch.
