Top 3 players with most centuries for West Indies in T20Is ft. Shai Hope

West Indies have produced several explosive batters in T20 international cricket, with some of their biggest names setting impressive records over the years. The latest performances in the format, however, have brought a change at the top of the country’s century charts. Shai Hope has enjoyed a remarkable run in T20I cricket, producing three centuries to become the West Indies batter with the most hundreds in the format.

His latest achievements have helped him move ahead of some of the biggest names in West Indies cricket. While Hope leads the list, two other prominent West Indies batters have scored two T20I centuries each. Here is a look at the three players with the most centuries for the West Indies in T20Is.

Top 3 players with the most T20I centuries for West Indies

1. Shai Hope – 3 centuries

Hope has established himself as West Indies’ leading T20I centurion after producing three hundreds in the format. Remarkably, all three centuries have been unbeaten scores of exactly 102, making the record even more unusual. His first T20I century came against Australia in 2025, when he scored 102 not out. Hope then delivered two more hundreds during the 2026 tour of India, showcasing his ability to combine calculated batting with explosive strokeplay.

The first of those knocks came in Ranchi, where Hope smashed 102 not out off just 45 deliveries. His innings helped West Indies chase down a target of 250, registering the team’s highest successful run chase in T20I cricket. He followed it up with another unbeaten 102 in Hyderabad, this time off 50 balls, including nine sixes.  Beyond his centuries, Hope has crossed 2,000 runs in T20Is and has recorded 16 scores of 50 or more, equalling Gayle’s tally in that category. His recent performances have underlined his importance to the West Indies batting lineup.

2. Chris Gayle – 2 centuries

Chris Gayle remains one of the most influential batters in the history of T20 cricket. Known as the ‘Universe Boss’, the former West Indies opener was the first player to score a century in men’s T20 international cricket. Gayle achieved the landmark during the inaugural ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2007, smashing 117 off 57 balls against South Africa in Johannesburg. His innings featured seven fours and 10 sixes, although West Indies eventually lost the match.

His second T20I century came during the 2016 T20 World Cup in India. Gayle scored an unbeaten 100 off just 48 deliveries against England in Mumbai, helping West Indies chase down a target of 183. The innings featured five fours and 11 sixes, once again demonstrating his extraordinary power-hitting ability. Gayle finished his T20I career with 1,899 runs and two centuries. He held the West Indies record for the most hundreds in the format until Hope moved ahead of him in October 2026.

3. Evin Lewis – 2 centuries

Evin Lewis completes the list with two T20I centuries, both of which came against India. The left-handed opener built his reputation as an aggressive batter who could change the course of a match during the powerplay. His first T20I hundred came in Lauderhill, Florida, in 2016. Lewis smashed 100 off 48 balls against India, helping West Indies post a formidable total in a high-scoring contest.

The opener followed that performance with an even bigger innings in Jamaica in 2017. He hammered an unbeaten 125 off 62 deliveries, an innings that remains the highest individual T20I score by a West Indies batter. His knock included six fours and 12 sixes. Lewis reached the two-century mark in just 66 T20I innings, highlighting his effectiveness at the top of the order. He was also part of the West Indies squad that won the 2016 T20 World Cup, further cementing his place among the team’s notable white-ball performers.
