Bhooth Bangla Teaser Review: Zero Horror and Minimal Fun

Bhooth Bangla is one of the most anticipated films releasing in 2026 due to several reasons, and its teaser has only done injustice to the anticipation. The Concern-Filled Dependence on VFX and CGI

The horror elements riding on the appearance of the ghost of the palace, Vadhusur, and the thrills arriving with it are a major part of the film’s storyline, which are heavily dependent on VFX and CGI. As we know of several relevant examples, poor visual effects can make a film drown easily, irrespective of the hard work put in other domains. 

Hence, if the visual effects make the horror scenes feel less effective than they deserve to be, there will be great chances of the Akshay Kumar starrer being rejected. The Similarity with Bhool Bhulaiyaa

A similar feel to that of Bhooth Bangla was seen earlier this year in the form of Prabhas’ The Raja Saab, which became a disaster. Both movies are from the same genre, horror and fantasy, as claimed by the makers. Adding on to that is Priyadarshan being out of form, as already seen in Hungama 2. 

While the similarity between the Bhooth Bangla film 2026 and the cult classic Bhool Bhulaiyaa spreads far and wide among the audience, it will only lead to harmful comparisons and possible disappointments before and after the film’s release.

What is worse for the film’s concept is the fact that in the recent past, audiences have experienced similar milked attempts like Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 with nostalgia so much that the plot of Bhooth Bangla does not excite to the same extent. If Bhooth Bangla had been made in the past, the film would not have been considered so basic.

Can Bhooth Bangla Succeed at the Box Office?

Before the teaser, the Ram Ji Aake Bhala Karenge song from Bhooth Bangla was released as the first major asset of the film, which built a good buzz for the film initially, but didn’t become very popular in the long term. Following it, the audience reception for the teaser has been very okayish.
