Deputy Commissioner Dr. Kumar, in a statement, said that house listing and housing census operations in Mandya district will commence on April 16. Prior to this, a 15-day window — from April 1 to April 15 — has been provided for self-enumeration.

Citizens can log in to the official website (https://se.census.gov.in/), and complete the process by answering 33 questions related to household listing and housing census, he said.
Upon successful submission of the self-enumeration data, a reference ID will be sent via SMS and email. When the enumerator visits the household, this reference ID will help complete the census process quickly. If the reference ID is not furnished, the enumerator will have to collect all the details afresh by asking the questions again, he added.
Participating in self-enumeration will help residents avoid the time spent during the enumerator’s visit, the Deputy Commissioner said and urged people to participate in large numbers and actively contribute to the census.
