Veraval:
A man was attacked and seriously injured in Gujarat’s Veraval by a stray bull, only to be saved by alert locals.
A CCTV footage of the incident showed the man riding his two-wheeler along a street when the bull approached the vehicle and mows it down, with the man still on it. The bull then continues to attack the man, who tries to defend himself. Eventually, the man loses strength to fight back and collapses out of weakness.
Locals nearby were seen rushing to his rescue, throwing stones and attempting to ward away the bull by hitting it with sticks.
The bull was eventually driven away by the locals and the man was pulled to safety.
The man sustained severe injuries to his head, chest and limbs and was rushed to a nearby hospital via an auto-rickshaw. He is currently undergoing treatment.
“This is no longer just an inconvenience; it is a death trap,” a local resident of Veraval said. “From major cities to small industrial hubs like ours, the roads have been surrendered to stray herds. How many more innocent people must be hospitalised before the authorities take permanent action?”
The incident has triggered protests, with villagers demanding that the local administration and municipal bodies launch an immediate drive to remove aggressive stray animals from residential zones.
