The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) fans are living their worst nightmare as MS Dhoni continues to remain sidelined from the ongoing IPL 2026 due to his stubborn calf injury. MS Dhoni, who has already missed the first three games of the season, has now been ruled out of CSK’s next clash against Delhi Capitals on April 11.
The legendary wicketkeeper-batter’s calf injury has turned into a major concern inside the Chennai Super Kings camp. They are clearly feeling the pressure and are clueless without MS Dhoni, as the five-time champions have lost three straight games so far in the ongoing IPL 2026.

Rohit Juglan claimed that Dhoni was seen only “jogging” and doing light net sessions, but he is nowhere near full match fitness. He revealed that he has not batted with full intensity at the nets.
This hints that the Chennai Super Kings may have to wait much longer than expected for MSD’s return. Dhoni’s injury still needs time, as his movements show that he is not yet ready for match intensity, and the team must not want to take any risk with such a sensitive muscle issue.
Dhoni and CSK await crucial fitness tests as race against time begins
The journalist revealed that “MS Dhoni will undergo two major fitness tests”, and they are expected only before CSK’s IPL 2026 match against Kolkata Knight Riders on April 14. Now, Dhoni’s return entirely depends on how he performs in the upcoming fitness tests.
It is being said that the CSK icon might not be available for selection till the last week of April if the calf doesn’t heal properly. Presently, even the KKR match looks “doubtful” unless he pulls off a miracle recovery. The final call will be taken after the last round of the fitness test.
Dewald Brevis cleared for DC clash; Akeal Hosein set for big CSK debut
Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings are gearing up for a dramatic turnaround in the ongoing IPL 2026 as they are set to receive the biggest boost in the form of Dewald Brevis. It is being said that Brevis recovered from a side strain and is ready to face the Delhi Capitals.
However, Australian speedster Spencer Johnson will reach Chennai around April 25–26, yet he won’t be available to play until the first week of May. Well, CSK is seriously considering Akeal Hosein for the DC match, given his clever spin and control and other bowlers’ struggles.
Sanju Samson’s sweet surprise to Kerala fan
In a heartwarming moment, Sanju Samson surprised a fan with a brand-new smartphone. He stopped his car near Kozhikode, Kerala, around 5:15 pm to take a phone call.
At the same time, Shabareesh, a cable technician from Katampazhippuram, was passing by with his friend Manikandan on their way to a local cricket ground in Mangalankunnu.
Samson stopped them, and after the video call, they posed for a selfie. After witnessing his mobile phone’s broken glass, the CSK wicketkeeper gifted him the new phone at that moment.
