The TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, match No.23 between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) was an exciting contest to watch, as the reigning champions defeated LSG by 5 wickets. RCB are currently at the top of the table after winning last night and have been in phenomenal form in the tournament.
After the match, the LSG wicket-keeper batter Mukul Choudhary lived his dream as he got the opportunity to meet the former India captain Virat Kohli for the first time. Mukul has been one of the findings in the IPL, as he has been known for hitting big sixes, which was displayed in the game against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
Mukul Choudhary finally meets Virat Kohli
Mukul single-handedly won the match for his franchise against KKR, scoring 54 off 27 balls. Ahead of the RCB match, Mukul Choudhary said to his social media team, “You have to click good photos when I take an autograph. I had a dream that before he retires, I go and play IPL. Either in his team or in front. I will now play in front.”

Every young cricketer like Mukul Choudhary in India has the dream of playing alongside Virat Kohli or against him. Virat has been an inspiration for a lot of cricketers in the country, and nearly 9 out of 10 young cricketers idolise him. Mukul kept the wickets last night as their regular captain, Rishabh Pant, was out injured. While batting, he scored 39 runs.
Virat Kohli is topping the chart
Virat Kohli was excellent last night as he scored 49 and missed the half-century by one run. He was used as an impact player due to his ankle issue, which he suffered during the Mumbai Indians match. Kohli also had a fever in the same game and did not take the field. He is currently the leading run getter with 228 runs and also holds the orange cap.
Virat Kohli shared his update that he is not 100% fit, and even shared that he is still suffering from his health issues as well due to the hot and humid conditions in India. It will be interesting to see whether Virat takes the field in the next game against the Delhi Capitals, which is also the last home game at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Mukul Choudhary idolises MS Dhoni
Mukul Choudhary comes from Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, into a family that had already decided his future as a cricketer. Choudhary is an ardent follower of former India captain MS Dhoni, not only in strokeplay, but in philosophy. “I always wanted to be a finisher like him.” After winning the game against KKR he said, “I try to take the game deep.”
He said later at the press conference, “If I stay till the end, I can win it.” Over the years, MS Dhoni won games for India and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) with this philosophy of taking the game deep and winning matches for the sides. This made the latter one of the best finishers of the game.
