Young Indian wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel pulled off a stunning one-handed stumping during the IPL 2026 clash between the Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) chase against the Rajasthan Royals (RR), and that the cricket world will certainly remember for a long time.
Dhruv Jurel’s brilliance during Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) chase against Rajasthan Royals (RR) was the biggest highlight of this IPL 2026 clash at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Sunday, April 19. The dramatic and completely filmic scene the fans got to see in the fifth over of KKR’s chase.
Cricket world left shocked as Dhurv Jurel pulled off an unreal Stumping in the KKR vs RR IPL 2026 clash
Cameron Green stepped out of his crease to attack a googly sent by Ravi Bishnoi. The delivery spun wide down the leg side, which made it very difficult for the RR wicketkeeper to collect cleanly. For a moment, Jurel did not even have a clear view.

Still, the RR wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel reacted in a flash. He dived to his left, caught the ball while still in the air, and without wasting even a second, threw it at the stumps with just one hand. The most surprising part was that he did not even look at the stumps while doing it.
The ball hit perfectly, and Green was well outside the crease. Everyone knew the KKR batter was out even before the replay confirmed the wicket. Dhruv Jurel showed amazing control and confidence. Even while falling and losing balance, Dhruv Jurel managed to complete the stumping in one smooth action.
THAT’s SOME STUMPING! 🤯

Ravichandran Ashwin compares Dhruv Jurel’s magic to Dinesh Karthik, not MS Dhoni
His Rajasthan Royals’ teammates and the crowd at Eden Gardens were stunned. Jurel’s efforts left the cricket fraternity in awe of the young wicketkeeper. Legends like Sachin Tendulkar, Kevin Pietersen, and Ravichandran Ashwin heaped praise on the Indian star for his remarkable efforts.
Not just praising Jurel’s acrobatics, Ashwin shockingly overlooked one of the world’s best wicketkeepers the game has ever seen, MS Dhoni, when a fan compared the RR star’s magic with the CSK legend.
Actually, Ashwin praised Jurel’s stumping on X by saying, “Dhruv Ju-we-lllll 🔥🔥🔥🔥 What a stumping 💯💯💯,” but a fan said it reminded him of Dhoni. However, Ashwin disagreed and said it was more like Dinesh Karthik’s famous stumping of Michael Vaughan at Lord’s in 2004.

Rinku Singh powers KKR to victory after a lifeline
Following Green’s wicket, KKR was under pressure, and RR was in control. But a dropped catch of Rinku Singh proved too costly for the Royals. He made the most of the lifeline by hitting an unbeaten 53 off 34 balls, studded with five boundaries and two sixes against the RR.
Rinku finished the match with a six in the final over as the Kolkata Knight Riders registered their first win of the ongoing IPL 2026 by thrashing the Rajasthan Royals by four wickets at Eden Gardens. Despite the crushing defeat, RR remained in third rank on the points table with 8 points.
On the other hand, KKR improved their position, pushing MI to 10th spot from 9th in the IPL 2026 points table. KKR will now face LSG on April 26 in their next clash in the tournament.
