Counting of votes for bypolls to two assembly segments in Karnataka, Bagalkot and Davanagere South, are underway on Monday (May 4, 2026), amid tight security, election officials said.
The voting for the by-election was held on April 9. The polls were necessitated by the deaths of senior Congress MLAs H.Y. Meti (Bagalkot) and Shamanur Shivashankarappa (Davanagere South).
