The Punjab Kings (PBKS) management can restrict Arshdeep Singh from sharing videos, reels, and vlogs on his social media accounts. This development is because of a video of Arshdeep, where Yuzvendra Chahal was allegedly caught vaping while the team was on an airplane.
Arshdeep Singh’s vlogs with the team members, capturing moments inside moments of the team, become one of the concerns for the team management.
In the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season, preserving information related to all participating teams becomes one of the priorities for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and all 10 teams in the league for various reasons. One of the reasons is obviously the social media videos related to the IPL teams.
Why can PBKS ask Arshdeep Singh to stop sharing videos on the internet involving the team?
On May 9, Cricbuzz reported that the Punjab Kings team management can formally ask Arshdeep Singh not to post any further videos from his social media accounts. On Saturday, through a meeting, the officials can ask Arshdeep Singh in an official declaration to stop posting video content on the social media platforms.
“Cricbuzz understands that the franchise will communicate with the players on Saturday evening, as much with Arshdeep, and seek their compliance with the recently issued advisory of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI),” the media report claims.
PBKS will arrange a meeting with their players
It is learnt that the officials of PBKS will ask their players for a meeting after a practice session at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala. In a strict mandate, the board could bar all of their players, including Arshdeep Singh, to stop provindings details related to the team and the league in any form in public domains.
Videos or content related to the team and the league will be shared only through the official social media account of the team. Arshdeep is among the players who are very active on social media platforms. His videos and content on Instagram gain a significant amount of engagement.
It was earlier reported that BCCI issued a notification to all 10 teams in the Indian Premier League, describing what to do and what not to do. It is the duty of the team managers to arrange a meeting with their respective squad within 48 hours of receiving the instructions. PBKS will do the same as per the BCCI directives.
BCCI issued strict mandates for all the IPL teams
The BCCI draws the attention of all Franchises to the well-documented risks of targeted compromise and honey-trapping that pervade high-profile sporting environments. The possibility of incidents giving rise to serious legal allegations, including those under applicable laws on sexual misconduct, cannot be discounted.
IPL franchise management must remain vigilant and proactive in mitigating such risks at all times,” BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia said in a seven-page guidelines issued to the franchises on Thursday evening.
In a strict mandate, BCCI asks all members related to the league to obey the following points:
(a) All players and support staff must inform and obtain clearance from the SLO and/or TIO before departing from the team hotel at any hour.
(b) Any planned movement outside the hotel, for personal, recreational, or any other purposes, must be communicated to the Team Manager and the SLO well in advance of the intended departure.
(c) The SLO/TIO shall maintain a contemporaneous log of all team movements, to be made available to the BCCI Operations Team upon request.
