The Kolkata Knight Riders squad has already arrived in Raipur for their crucial IPL 2026 match against the defending champions RCB on Wednesday. They have shared two videos on their social media handle from their travel journey, but neither of them featured Varun Chakravarthy.

But now a video is doing rounds on social media, shared where the mystery spinner was seen walking inside a hotel in Raipur with the help of a crutch and a brace on his left leg. The video went viral on social media in no time, and many fear that the injury could be serious.
No official update yet from Kolkata Knight Riders on Varun Chakravarthy
The visuals looked quite worrying because Varun appeared to be putting very little pressure on his injured leg. With KKR still fighting hard to stay alive in the IPL 2026 playoff race, Varun’s fitness has now become one of the biggest concerns for the franchise.
However, Kolkata Knight Riders has still not given any official update about the Indian spinner’s fitness or about the exact nature of the injury. Also, there is still no clarity on whether Varun would play any game for the franchise in the rest of the IPL 2026.

The timing of the injury scare could not have been worse for the Kolkata side. After a terrible start to the season where they lost five of their first six matches, the team has made a brilliant comeback by winning four games in a row.
