Shubman Gill brutally trolls Abhishek Sharma and SRH with ‘Dil abhi bhi sache’ post after GT’s win

Shubman Gill knows very well how to grab attention, and this time, he turned heads for mocking his own close friend Abhishek Sharma after mocking the top teams like Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2026 (IPL 2026).

After Gujarat Titans (GT) destroyed Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 82 runs in their IPL 2026 clash in Ahmedabad, Gill came up with a hilarious social media post featuring Ishan Kishan and Abhishek that left fans laughing all over the internet.

Shubman Gill brutally trolls Abhishek Sharma after GT crush SRH in IPL 2026

The Gujarat Titans captain shared a post on his social media handles with a cheeky caption that instantly went viral. Gill has indirectly taken another playful dig at the Sunrisers Hyderabad opener and his close friend Abhishek Sharma after his team’s crushing defeat.

Sharing a photo with Ishan Kishan and Abhishek of SRH, Gill wrote in the caption on X (formerly Twitter): “Dil abhi bhi sache, aur ghar bhi kache.”

The funny yet interesting part is that this line was actually connected to an old conversation from earlier this year. During the BCCI Awards event, the topic of Sunrisers Hyderabad’s IPL trophy chances came up when presenter Sahiba Bali was interviewing Gill and Abhishek.

Shubman Gill’s old savage joke on SRH and Abhishek Sharma goes viral after GT captain’s latest mocking

Gill, known for his calm but sharp sense of humor, had asked, “SRH last kab jeeti thi?” To which Abhishek responded, “SRH bahut pehle jeeti thi.”

Then, the GT captain jokingly reminded his India teammate of SRH’s long wait for another IPL title since 2016’s glory. His one-liner “SRH tab last jeeti thi jab ghar kache, aur dil sache hote the” during that interaction became very popular on social media at that time.

Abhishek could only smile before saying, “Is baar kuch nahi bolunga… shayad jeet jaye.” (I won’t say anything this time… maybe we’ll finally win.)

It seems that Gill remembered that chat perfectly well, as months later, after Gujarat Titans completely outplayed Sunrisers Hyderabad, Gill made the most of the opportunity to bring back the same punchline to troll Abhishek and his franchise.

Fans connected the latest trolling with that old viral moment, and within minutes the post went viral across the social media platforms as Gill mocked SRH’s long wait for the IPL title.

Sunrisers Hyderabad register lowest IPL total after shocking collapse against GT

Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad had a night to forget in Ahmedabad, as their aggressive batting style failed badly against Gujarat Titans. Chasing 169, SRH were bowled out for just 86 in 14.5 overs, registering their lowest total in IPL history.

Mohammed Siraj gave Gujarat the perfect start by removing Travis Head for a duck in the very first over. Soon after, Kagiso Rabada struck twice to dismiss Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan. After which, the middle order completely collapsed as Jason Holder and Prasidh Krishna were on fire, so even dangerous batter Heinrich Klaasen failed to rescue the team.

Captain Pat Cummins tried to fight back with a few big shots, but the match had already slipped from their hands, and Gujarat Titans registered their dominant win to jump to the top of the IPL 2026 points table with 16 points. On the other hand, SRH slipped to the third spot with 12 points.
