Shardul Thakur gives fiery send-off to Shreyas Iyer in PBKS vs MI clash

Shardul Thakur is on fire tonight at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamshala, against the home team, Punjab Kings (PBKS). PBKS was looking in control as one of their openers, Prabhsimran Singh, was well settled on the track. They touched the 100-run mark in 11 overs.

For the 12th over, Mumbai Indians’ seam bowling all-rounder Shardul Thakur came to deliver and made a huge impact. In this over, he claimed two crucial wickets; first Prabhsimran Singh, and then the PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer, back-to-back departures in the same over.

Two wickets in one over for Shardul Thakur

Shardul Thakur was pumped up, and it should be as such; from here, the match can take a meaningful bend. Singh was dismissed for 57 off 32, and Iyer had to go for only 4 runs from 2 balls. Punjab Kings were 111 runs against 3 wickets.

Shardul Thakuris in the playing XI as a replacement

Sharul Thakur is not among the regular faces in the Mumbai Indians playing combination. The management put the all-rounder back in their lineup because of multiple absences. Hardik Pandya, the designated skipper of the team, is still recovering from a back spasm and missed tonight’s match as well. Suryakumar Yadav, who played as the stand-in skipper in the previous two matches, when Pandya was not available, is also out of the PBKS match because of personal reasons.

So, the management put the leadership responsibility on Jasprit Bumrah’s shoulders. At the toss, he informed of the inclusion of Shardul Thakur and the changes they had made for this game. Sherfane Rutherford and Shardul Thakur for the absent Suryakumar Yadav and AM Ghazanfar.

“As much as we can, you know, positives that we can, and we play good cricket. We’ve got three games left. We want to enjoy. We want to enjoy each other’s company and create an impact and maybe, you know, ruffle a few teams. (Changes to your side?) We’ve got two changes. Surya (SKY) is not here due to personal reasons, and Allah (Ghazanfar) is out as well,” Jasprit Bumrah, the stand-in skipper of the Mumbai Indians, informed at the toss.
