“Guys, great win. It was a complete team effort. With the bat, it was good to see everyone chip in while I was enjoying my bit of Test cricket,” said Rohit Sharma in the dressing room.

“It was not an easy pitch, but the way you played” – Rohit’s massive praise for Ryan Rickelton after MI’s 200+ chase at Dharamshala

Rohit went on to laud the likes of his opening partner Ryan Rickelton, who is the only MI star to have amassed 400+ runs in the season. The batter’s contributions have been significant in Mumbai’s limited success.

“Rick (Ryan Rickelton), as he has always been doing, was great to watch because that start for us was important. It was not an easy pitch, but the way you played, I think that start gave us the momentum to take the innings forward,” added the veteran Indian batter.

Rickelton has amassed 430 runs across just 10 matches this season for the Mumbai Indians with a maiden IPL century to his name. He has been striking the ball fearlessly with a strike rate of 190.26 this season and has also smashed 37 towering hits this season.

Will Mumbai consider Jasprit Bumrah for captaincy in 2027?

While Suryakumar Yadav‘s form has been significantly poor this season, he was finally dropped from the playing XI. On the other hand, Hardik Pandya has been missing the games towards the back end with a freak injury.

Hardik has been said to part ways with the Mumbai Indians ahead of the next season. The MI team is likely to make some massive changes ahead of the next season; even the likes of Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav might not retain their spots.

Jasprit Bumrah, the seasoned MI campaigner, might be handed the captaincy after they decide to make a move ahead of the 2027 season. He captained in the last game, and it will be keen to watch if he does the same for the remaining games this season.
