Shreyas Iyer marks another record of his own in the ongoing TATA Indian Premier League 2026 (IPL). As soon as he was named as the captain of the Punjab Kings (PBKS), against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), for the 61st match of IPL 2026 at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala.
It was Shreyas Iyer’s 100th match in the IPL as a captain. At the toss, when both of the captains walked into the middle, Iyer was informed about the record.

The PBKS skipper stated that he had no clue that it was going to be his 100th match in the league as a captain.
“I’m not going by the stats; we’re clearly seeing how the games pan out. If we bat and bowl well, the toss doesn’t matter. I seriously had no clue that this was my 100th game as a captain, but it feels great. It feels like a great opportunity for me to win my 100th game (as captain).” Shreyas Iyer said. Winning the toss, Iyer chose to bowl first at their home ground against RCB.
