Abhishek Sharma owns Pakistan like a father. It may sound like a brutal statement, but the way he has repeatedly attacked Pakistan’s bowling attack has made him one of their biggest problems in T20 cricket.
And he did it again in the Asian Games 2026 final.
On a slow and difficult surface, Abhishek smashed 61 runs from just 28 balls. This was not a flat batting track where every batter could freely hit through the line. The ball was gripping, Pakistan found early wickets, and India could easily have been pushed onto the back foot.
But Abhishek had other plans.
Abhishek Sharma Destroys Pakistan Again
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi started aggressively but was dismissed early. Sanju Samson also could not make an impact. Pakistan had an opportunity to put India under pressure.
Abhishek simply refused to allow that to happen.
He attacked Pakistan’s bowlers and smashed 61 off 28 balls, including seven sixes and three fours. His strike rate was over 217.
More importantly, his aggression changed the mood of the innings. Instead of allowing Pakistan to take control after getting wickets, Abhishek kept attacking and forced their bowlers onto the defensive.
This is exactly what makes him so dangerous against Pakistan.
He does not simply look to score runs. He attacks early, targets the bowlers and tries to break their confidence before they can settle into the game.
Three Brutal Knocks Against Pakistan
This is not the first time Abhishek has done this.
In his first T20I against Pakistan during the 2025 Asia Cup, he smashed 31 runs from only 13 balls at a strike rate of more than 238.
Then came an even bigger assault in the Super Four.
Pakistan made 171/5, but Abhishek completely changed the chase with 74 runs from 39 balls. He attacked from the beginning and helped India put together a 105-run opening partnership with Shubman Gill.
Now, in the Asian Games final, he has produced another destructive innings:
31 off 13 balls.
74 off 39 balls.
61 off 28 balls.
Three different matches against the same opponent, and three times Abhishek has attacked Pakistan so hard that they have been forced onto the back foot very early in the innings.
Why Abhishek Sharma Is Such a Problem for Pakistan
The biggest damage Abhishek causes is not only on the scoreboard.
It is the pressure he creates.
Pakistan can come into the match with plans for him, but Abhishek’s approach is simple: attack before the bowler gets comfortable.
When a main bowler is hit for boundaries early, the captain has to rethink his plans. Fields change. Bowling changes become defensive. And suddenly the pressure that was supposed to be on the Indian batters moves onto Pakistan.
That is exactly why Abhishek’s innings can have an impact much bigger than his individual score.
His 31 off 13 did it.
His 74 off 39 did it.
And on a difficult pitch in the Asian Games final, his 61 off 28 did it again.
That is why fans have started using the provocative line that “Abhishek Sharma is the new father of Pakistan.”
It is fan language, but the cricket behind that reaction is clear: when Abhishek gets going against Pakistan, their bowlers have repeatedly struggled to stop his early assault.
And once again, on one of the biggest stages, Abhishek Sharma completely owned Pakistan’s bowling attack.
