Abishek Porel, a Bengal and Delhi Capitals keeper-batter, will have to be in judicial custody for 14 days as the Chinsurah Court denied to provide the star cricketer a bail in connection with a case accusing him of rape, physical assault, criminal intimidation and false promises of marriage.
Abishek Porel has been under investigation since June 23. A young woman, who is reportedly studying medicine in Karnataka, filed a case against the well-known Indian cricketer with several charges. Abishek Porel initially turned down all of the allegations made against him, but the police had to work hard to trace him.

As per media reports, police visited his residence in Chandannagar multiple times but could not trace him. Later, he was arrested in Kolkata and sent to custody.
