Apple has rolled out the first developer beta of iOS 26.5, alongside iPadOS 26.5, macOS 26.5, visionOS 26.5, and watchOS 26.5. This comes just a week after the company released the stable iOS 26.4 and iPadOS 26.4 updates to users.
The iOS 26.5 beta 1 update introduces a handful of minor changes along with several bug fixes. According to the release notes, developers will also notice new purchase options in the App Store.

The update is said to introduce a ‘Suggested Places’ section in the Maps app, aligning with Apple’s recent push to incorporate ads into the platform. It will show up inside the search box within the app.
iOS 26.5 beta also brings RCS messaging, Live Activities support for third-party accessories in the EU, improved accessory pairing, and a new Inuktitut keyboard layout. It further introduces enhanced options for sharing message attachments between iPhone and Android, along with references to a new ‘Year in Review for 2026’ feature in Apple Books.
