On Monday, the Bangladesh Cricket Board gave their players the green light to play in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026. The tournament kicks off on March 26 and wraps up with the final on May 3.
BCB said they’d been in close touch with the Ministry of Youth & Sports and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs about sending Bangladeshi cricketers to the PSL. They checked with the Bangladesh Mission in Islamabad and confirmed that there aren’t any security or safety issues for the players selected by the franchises.
With those assurances in place, the players headed to Pakistan for the tournament. BCB made it clear that player safety is their top priority—they promised to stay in close contact with everyone involved.
This year’s PSL will look a bit different. Because of the West Asia crisis, matches will happen without any spectators. PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi explained that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has asked people across Pakistan to limit their movements due to the fuel shortage.
Organizers have also cut the number of venues from six down to just two: Lahore and Karachi. The opening ceremony in Lahore is off the schedule, too.
Players like Mustafizur Rahman and Parvez Hossain Emon (Lahore Qalandars), Shoriful Islam, Nahid Rana, Tanzid Hasan Tamim (Peshawar Zalmi), and Rishad Hossain (Rawalpindi Pindiz) all got their No Objection Certificates earlier from BCB after being chosen by their teams. The tournament runs from March 26 to May 3.
