BJP State unit president Nainar Nagenthran, on Sunday (August 30, 2026) objected to comments by TVK MLA Madhar Badhurudeen (also known as V.M.S. Mustafa) on the Tamil movie Amaran, a biopic of late Army officer Major Mukund Varadarajan.

In a social media post, Mr. Nagenthran asked, “If a movie is made on the truth about terrorists from Pakistan, how can it be considered as if it is against Muslims? Why is Mr. Mustafa not able to tolerate if a terrorist is punished?”

He urged TVK founder and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay to reprimand Mr. Mustafa.

Recently, Mr. Mustafa, while speaking to journalists in Madurai had stated that Muslims were portrayed in bad light in the 2024 blockbuster film Amaran and had questioned why the erstwhile DMK government did not condemn it.
