Employees State Insurance Corporation’s Assistant Director Rohit Kumar Sahu on Wednesday said that Code on Social Security-2020 implemented by the Centre has been a boon for employees and contract workers as well as their family members with the implementation of social security measures such as pension, medical facilities and others.
In a meeting organised in Apitoria Pharma Limited (Formerly known as Aurobindo Pharma Limited), he handed over pension certificate to family members of a contract worker Matsa Lakshmunaidu, who died of heart attack earlier this year on March 6.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that his family is now eligible for ₹14,672 with the effective implementation of the Code on Social Security-2020 which was introduced with amalgamation of a few previous Labour Acts.
Senior officials of the Corporation Prajna said that the employees covered under ESCI scheme would get financial assistance during sick leaves and get medical facility in various hospitals located in North Andhra region.
Apitoria Pharma Limited representatives said that all employees and contract workers were being covered in ESCI scheme to enable them to get all social security measures.
