Young Rajasthan Royals opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi failed to live up to the expectations as Mumbai Indians seamer Deepak Chahar dismissed him cheaply in the ongoing IPL 2026 clash at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday (May 24).
The teenage sensation, who has impressed everyone this season with his fearless batting, failed to make an impact when Rajasthan Royals needed a strong start the most. However, it was Chahar’s funny celebration that stole all the spotlight after dismissing the left-hander.
Deepak Chahar’s plan works perfectly against Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in MI vs RR IPL 2026 clash
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi walked in with big expectations on his shoulders, but Mumbai Indians had already planned everything perfectly for him. Deepak Chahar trapped the RR opener with clever field placement before celebrating in his own entertaining style once again.
Vaibhav tried to play an attacking shot against a fuller delivery from Chahar. The ball was right there to hit, and the youngster decided to go big over the off-side. But things did not go according to his plan. He sliced it high in the air towards deep point, failing to time the ball properly.
Naman Dhir, who was stationed there, quickly ran forward to complete the catch, while another fielder also ran towards the ball at the same time. For a moment, it looked slightly confusing near the boundary, but Naman kept his focus and safely grabbed the catch.
Deepak Chahar’s invisible note celebration goes viral again
Vaibhav’s innings ended on just 4 runs from 6 balls, and Chahar started celebrating this big wicket by bringing back the same funny celebration that had already gone viral earlier this season. The Mumbai Indians pacer slowly put both his hands inside his pockets and looked at his teammate as if he was about to take out the famous “note” everyone was expecting.
The crowd immediately understood what the bowler was trying to do, but Chahar once again fooled everyone in hilarious fashion. He did not take out the note and started smiling while his teammates laughed around him.

He had done something similar recently after dismissing Finn Allen during the Mumbai Indians’ previous IPL 2026 match against the Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens. Now, the clip of the celebration has gone viral.
