Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s Rajasthan Royals (RR) teammate and India wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel is in awe of the teenager’s fearless batting. The 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has impressed everyone by attacking experienced and quality bowlers without showing any fear.
Jurel made it clear that comparing himself or other players with Sooryavanshi is not fair because the teenager is doing things that are difficult to even imagine at his age. Earlier, Dhruv Jurel picked Virat Kohli over Sachin Tendulkar, Rohit Sharma over Ricky Ponting.

Dhruv Jurel feels Vaibhav Sooryavanshi deserves all the praise for his incredible batting performances. The Indian wicketkeeper-batter pointed out that a 15-year-old batter taking on the world-class bowlers and hitting them regularly is something very special.
Interestingly, Jurel has stressed that there is no real comparison with Sooryavanshi because comparisons are only possible when another player feels capable of doing something similar. He noted that watching the youngster bat often leaves players simply amazed by what he is doing.
Dhruv Jurel told Aakash Chopra on his YouTube show ‘Baith and Bol’: “I think he deserves all the praise. You can’t even think about doing something like this in your dreams. A 15-year-old kid is smashing good bowlers and taking on everyone. There is no comparison at all. What is there to compare? Comparison happens when you feel that you can also do something similar. But when we watch him, we just keep watching him because he does things beyond our thinking.”

Dhruv Jurel highlighted how Sooryavanshi’s attacking style helps the batter at the other end. He shared that the left-hander keeps looking for boundaries and puts pressure on the bowlers, which gives his partner more freedom to play.
He added that when Sooryavanshi is batting, other batters feel they should simply maximize every ball because once the young batter gets the strike, he keeps taking on the bowlers and looking to maintain the strike. Amid this, Prasidh Krishna calls ODIs the toughest format ahead of West Indies series.
Jurel added, “Most of the time, he makes batting easier for you. He just keeps hitting, keeps clearing the boundaries, and keeps attacking. Even if you get one or two balls in the powerplay, you feel like you have to make the most of them. If he gets the strike, he will keep hitting and taking on every bowler. So, when you get those two or three balls, you feel you have to take advantage of every opportunity.”

Meanwhile, Dhruv Jurel is set to return to action for India in the upcoming three-match ODI series against West Indies, with the first match scheduled for September 27 in Thiruvananthapuram. With this series, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will also return to action in the blues.
On the other hand, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is currently in Japan with India’s T20I squad. The young batting sensation is expected to play in the Asian Games 2026, followed by the five-match T20I series against the West Indies in October 2026.
