In the match.34 between the reigning champions, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and the Gujarat Titans (GT). The fans came in huge numbers to support RCB, which is their final home game at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Sai Sudharsan came in differently as the GT opener smashed his first hundred of the season. This was the overall 6th hundred in this year’s IPL.
The left-handed opener brought his hundred in just 57 balls; it was his third IPL hundred overall, and the last year Orange Cap winner made a statement against one of the best sides of the tournament. He looked in deft touch from the very first ball, and on a wicket that was sticking, he played an amazing innings.
Sai Sudharsan creates history
The Southpaw, in the match previously, became the fastest player to score 2000 runs in IPL history. He brought up the record in 47 innings, surpassing the great Chris Gayle, who did it in 48 innings. It was also the 6th fastest in terms of the balls taken to achieve the milestone.
Sai smashed 11 fours and five sixes in his excellent innings. He had to walk back on the score of 100 off 58 balls, with Josh Hazlewood taking the big wicket. However, he put GT into the driver’s seat with his stunning knock. Previously, Sai scored a solitary half-century and has scored 235 runs with an average of 39.17.
Sai and Gill stitch 100 run partnership
After being invited to bat first, GT openers Shubman Gill and Sai had a steady start. After three overs, they took charge as the latter was the aggressor, and they were scoring at a good pace of over 10 runs per over.
Shubman Gill never got going as he was dismissed on the score of 32 off 24 balls. The two stitched a partnership of 128 runs, and Gill was dismissed by Suyash Sharma. Later, Jos Buttler was scoring at a good pace as his short innings of 25 off 16 deliveries put GT at a good stage.
For the RCB, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has bowled brilliantly with the spell of 31/1 in his four overs, and Suyash also picked one wicket in the match. GT have been at a good stage with the score of 179/3 in 18 overs. Gt will hope to post a good total as the wicket has been a bit sticky and anything over 200 will be a good total.
